THE WHAKATIPU BASIN

Queenstown, New Zealand, is Stephan’s home base and stepping-off point for expeditions into the Southern Alps, Fiordland National Park, Mt Aspiring National Park and much more. Beyond New Zealand’s shores, Stephan’s lens is drawn to compelling wilderness landscapes across continents. His European heritage and lifelong wanderlust guide him to mountain ranges, forest sanctuaries and places of extraordinary natural drama. When not out on expedition, Stephan’s work can be found at his Romer Gallery in Queenstown, soaking up the atmosphere of this vibrant lakeside tourist township.
