Twenty Five Mile Range

One of Queenstown's most popular outings is the spectacular journey to Glenorchy. The 45 kilometre-long road travels along the shores of Lake Whakatipu before eventually ending up in the quiet lakeside township of Glenorchy.

Along the way, there are spectacular viewpoints as you get closer to Mt Aspiring National Park. Beyond Glenorchy, the road continues to Paradise before the Dart and Rees river valleys take over.

Glenorchy is a quiet township on the shores of Lake Whakatipu, home to a small permanent population, luxury lodges and a few tourism operations. Glenorchy is the last town on the map before the road ends, and the majestic Mt Aspiring National Park takes over.
