Browns Island

Motukorea/Browns Island is one of around 50 volcanic cones found around the Auckland area. While volcanos such as Mt Eden are better known, Motukorea/Browns Island is a scenic day trip, and visitors will get to see the three Māori pa remains dating back 800 years.

Located in the Hauraki Gulf and not far from Auckland, Motukorea/Browns Island is rarely visited. It is not an easy island to access, with most visitors resorting to kayak tours to get there.
