Bush Island

Motukaramarama/Bush Island lies within the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park and, as such is an important refuge for many seabirds, including species endemic to New Zealand. Motukaramarama lies within a group of islands known as the Motukawao Islands found off the west coast of the Coromandel Peninsula in the Hauraki Gulf.

The Hauraki Gulf Marine Park was established in 2000 and consists of more than 30 island groups. The marine park aims to protect the scenery, ecosystem and natural features of this important part of New Zealand.
