Deer Park Heights is located close to Lake Whakatipu, near the residential suburb of Kelvin Heights. From its enviable position, Deer Park Heights takes in spectacular views over the lake, the Remarkables mountain range and south to Kingston and beyond.
Despite being just 10 minutes from Queenstown Airport, Deer Park Heights has retained a remote and rural feel with very little development happening up on the hill. Deer Park Heights is most famous for playing a starring role in many blockbusters that have been filmed in Queenstown over the years. Many scenes from Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy were shot at the top of Deer Park Heights.
