Geography

Mc Lean Falls

McLean Falls, at its highest point, is 22 metres and is a classic tiered waterfall cascading through the bush. The waterfall is located in an area known as The Catlins, situated along the southern coastline of New Zealand’s South Island. The area is renowned for its diverse rural, coastal, and bush landscapes and a healthy marine ocean reserve. The Southern Scenic Route traverses The Catlins, where a treasure trove of waterfalls can be uncovered.

The Southern Scenic Route is a 610-kilometre (380-mile) journey that takes you from Dunedin to Queenstown and covers The Catlins as well as Invercargill, New Zealand’s southernmost city.
