Victoria Glacier is located in South Westland on the South Island of New Zealand. South Westland is bordered by the Tasman Sea to the west and the Southern Alps to the east. At the top of Fox Glacier, a large neve collects the immense precipitation that falls each year. As the glacier flows down the upper icefall, ice moves along Victoria Flat, the confluence of the Fox and Victoria Glaciers.
Running the length of the South Island, the jagged, snow-capped peaks of the Southern Alps are home to 3100 glaciers.
